I wonder if anyone has seen this issue before,

I have the background color set to Solid Gray Light on an external display, if I use Quick Look for example the gray/black bezel of the Quick Look window seem to have lines on them moving diagonally from the left to the right and on other objects as well where the color is constant.

It only happens if I use the computer when in dual screen mode if the internal display is turned off (clamshell mode) the lines do not appear.

It's a first gen 2 Ghz MacBook Pro. I've also tested it on 3 different displays all connected via DVI-D, with three different resolutions (1920x1200, 1440x900 & 1680x1050) and the same issue appears on all of the displays I wonder if anyone else has seen this issue before? Could it be the graphic card struggling with displaying the internal and the external display?

I've got the same problem.

Hello,

I'm very glad to have found at least someone who seems to be experiencing pretty much the same problem I am. I have the "moving lines" on external displays with my MacBook Pro. It can be hidden a bit by adjusting the brightness levels on the monitor, but the lines never seem to go away. Some solid colors are worse than others.

My problem seems to differ from yours in one way: When I have my MBP closed lid mode, the lines stay just the same, they do not go away.

This is very frustrating... Anyone out there have suggestions ? I have tried multiple LCD monitors and multiple DVI cables.

I have a first gen 1.83MBP
