Hi First post ever! yay!!!

I'm just wondering I've got a second revision 20' inch sunflower imac with a very good amount of software installed on it I'm just wondering should I sell on the grey market?

On ebay at the moment a first revision model is going for sale at 440 dollars which is pretty good for a 4-5 year old computer. It's specs are.....

Up for auction is one very lightly used "Sunflower" imac G4. I have owned this imac since it was new. The machine is in excellent condition with no scratches, dings, etc. The 15" display is perfect with no scratches and NO DEAD PIXELS. It has an 80 GB hard drive and 1 GB Ram. This imac is in MINT condition!!!

It ships in the original box with all the original packaging. It works perfectly and has never been to Apple (or anyone else) for any kind or problem.

It is running MAC OS, 10.4.11 Tiger

Specifications:

CPU
CPU: PowerPC 7450
CPU Speed: 800 MHz
FPU: integrated
Bus Speed: 100 MHz
Ram: 512 MB installed. Max 1 GB

Video
Screen: 15" LCD
Video Card/Chipset: NVidia GeForce2 MX
VRAM: 32 MB
Max Resolution: 24 bit 1024x768
Video Out: mini VGA

Storage
Hard Drive: 60 GB
ATA Bus: ATA-66
Optical Drive: Combo Drive CD-RW/DVD-ROM

It's pretty poor performance wise but aesthetically it's beautiful in my opinion it's one of the best designs apple have ever done.

Specifications:

CPU
CPU: PowerPC G4
CPU Speed: 1.25 GHz
FPU: integrated
Bus Speed: 167 MHz
Ram: 512 MB installed. Max 1 GB

Video
Screen: 20" LCD
Video Card/Chipset: GeForce FX 5200
VRAM: 64 MB
Max Resolution: 32 bit 1680x1050
Video Out: mini VGA

Storage
Hard Drive: 80 GB
ATA Bus: ATA-66
Optical Drive: Superdrive CD-RW/DVD-ROM

Is it worth selling towards my macbookpro fund? or does anyone else think because of the unique design that these models will go up in value? Any thoughts?

Oh by the way my imac is in perfect condition and has never had to be serviced.

No, it will probably never go up in value, only continue to go down. Sell it now if you are going to sell it at all.

Cheers thanks for the reply. What do reckon I'd get for it? like what would you pay for it?

Those are actually fairly hard to find as far as iMac G4 models are concerned. There weren't nearly as many of the 20" models made compared to the much more common 15" and 17" ones. They appear to still bring $500-600 on eBay these days if they're in good shape.

I'd love to have one for collectible purposes, but I just bought a new 20" iMac as my main machine, so I don't need to spend the money on another computer right now. :) Good luck.
