@ home.
Hello everyone. I got a new thread today. Post your Application Launcher and why do you use/like it.

Sapiens 1.1
-> I like it because it has a nice user interface and can activate it from anywhere on the screen/space. It also has a neat search feature, without mentioning, it "predicts" what app you will open, and shows it in the middle of it.

Quicksilver

I use Quicksilver. I like it because it is lightweight, and has plugins for many tedious tasks other than application launching. And I love the Abracadabra feature. Unfortunately, I think any new development (like a Spaces plugin would be beautiful with mouse gestures) is dead, and I'm looking for something else that has similar features.

Butler for me. I've customized it so heavily that I can't imagine using anything else.

- Search multiple engines with a single keystroke
- pause Quicktime from any application
- force drives to unmount
- find most used folders quickly
- pause iTunes
- single keystroke to sleep
- single keystroke to switch users

Sapiens looks very cool and im sure a lot of people love using it but its just not for me.

i like simple stuff and will usually just use the stock OS features as theyre already there. so i use the Dock mostly, Spotlight and an Application stack set in list mode.

atm after the Dock i use the Application Stack as its faster than Spotlight as im only on 1 GB of Memory (a stick died). just click type and press enter!

Spotlight +1

Been trying to get myself to use QuickSilver, but it has some problems with Leopard, and does seem being abandoned...

Quicksilver all the way. Can't function without it.

My Dock.

Seriously, I just keep my Applications folder on the right hand side of the Dock dividing line, and click my mouse on it for a short second, then select my app. What could be easier?

I agree with this too. I use Spotlight to launch apps if my fingers are on the keyboard in the touch-type position; but if my hand is on the mouse or the trackpad, it's faster to click the app in the Dock.

I just use my applications folder as a stack in my dock. I don't want to get attached or dependant on something that I can't necessarily have on every Mac I use, if that makes any sense.

Spotlight for me, which I use to launch applications and open frequently-accessed files.

This thread is a few weeks old (after having been resurrected from its March grave)...yadda yadda yadda

...I use Spotlight but I'm interested in trying out LaunchBar. I tried to use QS but couldn't get into it other than launching apps.

Launchbar just came out with a new version 5 beta that adds some nice features you folks may want to check out.

I use cmd + space works really great ;) And no need to install any additional apps ;)
