Have you tried Firefox 3 Beta 4? I've found it to be much improved over previous versions in terms of using less system resources. Cheers.

How about extension compatibility?

Also firefox got slow within this week, overall my computer seems sluggish. I ran Onyx but nothing. Maybe I should turn it off tonight see if that helps.

Any tips will help.

Honestly, I'm not all too knowledgeable about the extensions with Firefox but I think that for now, a lot of the writers are waiting for the code to be frozen before modifying their extensions so they are fully compatible. I do know that some still work, such as Noscript, but I can't vouch for any others.

Regarding your performance issues, I've also had some leaks with Firefox that I've found can usually can be fixed by just quitting and restarting. Hopefully it works for you.

Yeah, sometimes Firefox 2 would "break" and all my websites would be broken and load incorrectly. After a simple relaunch they would be fine.

Also, Firefox 3 Beta 4 is SEXY, and I have yet to have a problem with it.

122MB memory and 6 percent CPU are both normal for firefox 2.

im not sure its a firefox problem. since u mentioned ur whole system is slowing down.

did u do any patch for osx lately? or other significant operation?

PS. you can use a new profile to test and see if firefox has any problem
