I have the previous generation MBP (2.4ghz merom) and as most of you may know, Apple added some new functions to the keyboard layout such as play/pause, forward/back, as well as expose and dashboard icons on the function keys.

Is it possible to swap out the previous generation keyboard to the new keyboard? If so, are there software sultions to remap the volume buttons as well as add play/pause and forward/back to the function buttons?

umm as far as i understood my old memrom (SR) 2.4 had all of those buttons as well

?

These are pictures of the new keyboard layout. Notice the expose and dashboard icons, multimedia buttons and remapped volume.

I'm actually wondering this as well. I have a Merom-era MacBook Pro but would like the new keys, and my current keyboard is toast (s'why I got the machine for cheap).

I have been told that it's not compatible, but I think that's BS. It's just a USB keyboard.

my keys feel crap, its like they got a can of cheap spray paint from wilkos and just used that.
i feel like the paint will come off after a few days
