Advice for an ever shrinking HD!

I currently have a MBP that I bought last year after updates with a 160gb hd. Now I have roughly 20GB of free space. I am considering buying a mac pro or a imac. I have logic and don't have room to install it right now. My wife also does lots of photography.

Now I am not sure what to do? I love the mbp but I can't see it as a long term solution because we will definitely need more room. We have about 40gb of pics, 40gb of music, and the computer is loaded with photoshop cs3, etc. I don't have a ton of movies, but do have about 30gb maybe of homemade movies.

I was trying to imagine an external hard drive solution, but it seems like a messy option because that would require keeping all photos on the external, or all music on the external.

So what should I do? Maybe an iMac with 750GB? Or a base Mac Pro for $2100 and throw in a few HD's (I am sure I don't need the 8core)? Or get a huge external hard drive? Thanks!

Buy a 1T Time Capsule and move all your music and videos to it.

Keep on the MBP ONLY those files that need to be mobile.

My wifes MBP uses our TimeCapsule as a Time Machine backup, the "D-Drive" for Windows under Parallels and an external 2nd drive for the MBP.

BTW.... we clone copies of the Parallels Virtual Disk to my MacPro for backups... so everything is at least double redundant... works great

Is transferring files to a time capsule slow, like listening to music for instance? Is that something where I will be getting skips often?

That would be an easy solution, but I don't want to have all of my pictures on an external, or multiple iphoto libraries on multiple discs (internal and external). However, maybe if I move all of my music to an external, that might give me enough room. I also need some space to install windows xp, and logic. Then I should be able to rock!
