I don't know if there is something wrong, but my battery in my MBP (previous generation - 2.2ghz C2D, SR, LED) isn't lasting nearly as long as it used to. I used to be able to get about four hours out of it with a full charge and Airport (not Bluetooth) running and the screen at about half brightness. Now, I barely get two with the screen almost all the way dark. Turning the Airport off only gives me about another twenty minutes, if that much. Does anybody know what is wrong? Can I do anything, or do I have to bring it to Apple? Thanks for all the help!

It has 156 cycles and the System Profiler says the battery health is fair.

call 1800aplcare. my guess is that they will overnight you a replacement.

i did this yesterday. called at 4PM. DHL arrived 930AM today.

they will ask for your for your full charge capacity, which is located in system profiler under 'power'

this is mine after 9 mths of using? am i eligible for an exchange?

Battery Problem

I had a similar problem with my MBP SR I bought in June'07. I made an appointment at the Apple Store, they checked it out and replaced the battery w/o any questions. Took about 15 min. Battery/MBP is running great now.

My battery did the same thing.

Just bring it into an Apple store, make an appointment at the Genius Bar and they will give you a new battery. They'll want to check it out real quick but you'll be in and out. You can make the appointment and usually within a half hour you'll see someone to help you. Hope that helps.

Same here.
Battery was messed, took it to the genius bar, and within 5 minutes, he came out with a brand new battery, no questions asked.

Usually the Genius will come up with something not to give you a replacement, but on the phone it's harder to diagnose, so they send you a new one overnight.

That may be the case in some of the Apple stores out there, but the one I went to was quite different. All the guy did was wake my laptop from sleep, find the serial number and punched a few numbers into his terminal. Next, without even looking into my system profiler, he just walked into the back, and returned with a brand new battery. All I had to do after that was sign for it, and I was on my way. The whole thing only took about 10 - 15 minutes.
