Hello everyone,

New Mac user here - love it. :D

Anyways - started using Pages and was wondering if there is a way to define major strings that I would use often?

For example, I'm drafting up a contract here and it involves me putting the client's name in there about 50 times. So, is there a way to simply say "I want this field to be 'Bob' instead of 'Sam'.

I know Office has a similar feature - hoping iWork does too.

Thanks!

I normally just use a Standard search & replace for this type of thing as it seems to be available in most applications. The trick to making it work reliably is to encase your placeholder text in triangular brackets, i.e. <Sam>.

That way you can do a global search for <Sam> and it would ignore 'Samantha' and then replace all instances with with Bob.
