It will fit but the later model your looking to buy has a newer keyboard layout. some of the symbols on the keys may not be the same on your keyboard protector if it's pre-printed with the older style layout. Others may want to verify what I am trying to say.

Bah just use the keyboard. Do you have plastic on your furniture at home also Grandma?

Haha nice. When I bought my Macbook, I immediately picked up a rubber keyboard protector from the Apple store. It looked nice and I got a few compliments on it as well, however after a week, it stopped sticking to the keyboard. It would pop up and not sit right anymore after a week of use. Normally, I would deal but I noticed imprints on the screen, so after I wiped it clean with iKlear, I took my protector off. Once I did, I realized how much easier it was to type. Cons far outweigh the pros of the keyboard protectors, IMO.

Just my experience with the things.

I bought an eBay silicone cover for $7 or $8 delivered. Just search for macbook keyboard cover and about a jillion should come up. I have a 2.4 BB. The function keys are the ones that don't all match, but it doesn't bug me for 8 bucks! In use for about 2 weeks now, no issues. Not hard to type, though I'll admit it's easier without the cover. This grandma has a lot of fur and dust flying around the house, so a cover is worth it for me.

I'll use it 'til it drives me nuts. So far so good, though. If you want one that matches your SR layout, you might check iskin.com. I know they have a couple of new ones that match, but you may have to call or email them to find out which ones.
