iPod touch Ipod touch return at best buy advice...need fast

Sorry if this is already posted, but I bought a 8 gig ipod touch in january at best buy. Now the screen has a funny dark spot in the middl, and a fw of th pixels are dead. I foolishly threw away the reciept, and do not have the extended warranty. Do any of you know if they will exchange it for a new one? Or is it just touch luck on me...
Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
 
go online to the apple support page (https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do) and request a repair. you just give them your serial number IIRC. You also need an apple ID of course. You didn't but the extended warranty but the ipod comes with a one year warranty. When my 8GB touch got a loose headphone jack, Apple replaced it and I got a new one no questions asked!
