Just curious how many people are still playing and just want to know your reasons... I'm thinking about playing again after almost 2 years.. I left off at level 32...

AHAHAHAHA
Level 32???

You suck!

Enter my realm and get PWNED N00b!!1! ROFLMAO

:D
Just kidding, I've never played wow in my life

hahaha,
ur just bragging ur mac..
go to WOW forums why don't you!!

Meh~ I had my mac pro since january.. so I had plenty of time to brag, lol. But I really am tempted to play Wow just because I can play it on a powerful machine... But I keep refusing to play because I know I'll just waste hours and hours of time on it.. and it'll be very addicting again....

I left wow for about 2 years at level 43 (namely due to performance issues on my PB), but when i got my mp 8800gt, yep... installed WoW again and have been playing on and off since february with the graphics maxed to the top. It's pretty slick as the quality is perfect and its a good way to pass time and take my mind off of video production. I'm at level 64 now.

So yes, I still play and that (above) is why. :)

i started up 6weeks ago, played for a couple of months when i first got my MP last year LOL. Its the only game that appeals to me, played warcraft 3 to death and age of empires 3 was a bit meh...

I took a break from the game for a couple months but started up again 2 weeks ago to continue raiding with my guild. So yeah, I definitely still play. Other than Call of Duty 4 its the only game that has been able to keep me interested. I've been playing since some time in the later stages of closed beta.

Just froze my account, I leveled my Lock to 70 and my Pally to 65...started to get bored again so I decided to concentrate on a few other (console) games I haven't beaten yet. I'll probably return to WoW at some point when I get the itch again. :D

Still saving for a new MBP so I can play again. I got to level 48 and stopped after selling my Mac. /cry

Why play? I've been playing the Warcraft series since I was a kid. I love the story and the characters, and being able to be a part of the world is awesome.

I have considered not playing anymore, however, for various reasons. It's quite time consuming and I lament that fact that I'm not 70 yet, so staying with the curve of the so-called "elite players" is an impossible notion at this point. I'm hoping that the expansion pack will level the playing field somewhat, and allow me to experience some of the dungeons I'm not geared for (Black Temple).

I've also been playing since it came out... its about the only game i really enjoy for the mac. I play on the Ner'zhul server and after the two year break I took, everything has changed (including with the BC and latest major 2.4 patch). It's certainly time consuming, but again... it helps after a long night of production (especially since i have the MP + 8800 to handle it). :D

At level 32 you haven't really experienced the other aspects of the game...

End game raiding content, 10 man, 25 man, and now extinct 40 man raids;
High Level Battle grounds PvP action;
Arena PvP;

I primarily PvP casually at the moment as raiding is too much of a time sink, too bad I'm on a PvE server!!

It's just a great game to play on the mac as it's just not a port from a windows game.

Is that is or Lich... that King should give you more to explore.

I used to play a lot of WoW on my iMac G5 2.1GHz. But for every new patch, my Mac got slower, and from November I didn't play any more (I continued to use the Mac for productivity instead, which wasn't too bad). I somehow got a bit tired of WoW. But then came the new MPs in January...

I finally got one of these beasts a few weeks ago, with the 8800GT, and I installed WoW on it, and now... well, let's just say that WoW seems like a completely new game on this machine. I never knew that WoW could look this good. Everything set to max, and it runs great. So smooth. I've got a lvl 70 pally and a bunch of low level alts, but I try not to play too much (got other things to do with this Octo beast, but WoW is a nice way of taking a (long) break off work).

Also, WoW (and any other Blizzard game) deserves attention from the Mac community, as Blizz does an impressive job supporting the OS X platform.

I played every now and then on my 2.0 GHz MacBook (boy that was painful) but when I upgraded to my Mac Pro I began playing more frequently. It also helped that I joined a fairly relaxed guild that's full of nice people who are always willing to help out. :)

Yep, I still play. I haven't been playing since the beginning though -- about a year or so.

I have a level 66 lock that I'm getting to 70. As a previous poster noted, WoW is like a different game on a Mac Pro -- I was coming from a MacBook and I didn't even realize the world goes black and white when your toon is dead! I specifically got the 8800 card because I knew I'd be playing WoW and I'm really pleased with its performance. WoW is pretty much the only game I play and I try not to let it be too much of a time sink but it's also a social thing -- I play with people I know IRL. So I can thank both Apple and Blizz for all the many hours I spend in front of my MP playing WoW.:rolleyes:

Don't play WoW now...

World of warcraft is destroyed

Everything is too easy now, everyone has epics, everyone is walking around in imba gear while they dont know how to play. WoW is not about skills anymore wich made duels or PVP really fun because it made you feel you were good at it. Now it is just the resilience number that matters.

If you missed out on pre tbc, dont bother playing the game. What you see is a reduced, nerfed, bad copy of the original game. Oh back in the days you found a lot of happy raiders, there was always world pvp! and when you got your first epic... you were like WOW! Because there was only a few ppl that got em, because most ppl played for 1hour a week and IMO THEY DONT DESERVE TO BE ABLE TO KILL A hardcore player 1on1.

now you get loot from badges that are actually equal to black temple loot. FROM 5 MAN INSTANCES.

The game is ruined and I have not played for a month. It's really much better not playing. I get time for other stuff and while I could say "bah im tired im off playing some i wont bother going to the gym" or such...

This is very true. On what other platform can you record and compress video with all resolution and sound options from directly within the game? Then import into iMovie and make your own music videos. :eek: Did I mention the built-in iTunes controller!?

They are just trying to let more people enjoy the high-end content before the new expansion. That gear is needed if you ever plan on defeating the major bosses of WoW:TBC. If you were playing so you could feel "superior" to other players then perhaps it's better that you don't play anymore.

BF2 all the way, tried call of duty 4, just couldnt get into it as much as bf2. I have stock ati in it and it runs ok... with full settings its a tad sluggish at times. never played Wow. Im sure Wow and bf2 have very similar graphic requirments.

Yup I still play :) Why? because its good fun, and theres so much of the game I have yet to experience.

Have a 70warrior tank who's been around the block, done most of the fun stuff at 60 pre-TBC (MC/BWL etc, sadly not naxx though :( ), and a bunch of lower level other classes.

The game plays completely differently with each class, so you really do get years worth of enjoyment out of it :)

It's true it has completely changed now with TBC, all of the great fun L60 raiding instances are pointless now other than to see those instances..the loot you get even in naxx is eclipsed by mid level greens in the outlands, which kind sucks really..especially when you simply won't find 40 level 60s to raid anymore - everyone rushes to the outlands.

Still good fun tho, and looks amazing on my mac pro, constant 60fps which will do me nicely :)

The new expansion is more then half a year away!! And the last boss is not supposed to be killed by a guy who plays 40 minutes a week. If the game would have been single player, then yes.

If you were playing so you could feel "superior" to other players then perhaps it's better that you don't play anymore.

Haha! YES that is 80% of the game! So, playing Counter Strike for 2 hours and getting 0 kills is fun? :confused::confused::confused: Playing wow alot, like for weeks/months, to get good gear and play on high ratings / get into end game guilds, then a patch comes and ppl who dinged 70 yesterday can have equal to your gear.

:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
