iPod ipod wont start up!!

It's a classic and when i turn it on just the apple logo appears and that's it! nothing else happens. Even when i put it on the dock and connect to my imac.

what's wrong? how can i fix it?

Could be a power thing:

It could be the battery has crapped out.

It might be that the power lead is no longer charging the ipod.

Might be a problem with the connector on the ipod so that it is no longer charging.

If not take it to the genius bar and see what they say.

If it is still under waranty then you'll get it fixed.
