Hi guys, first post here.

Just put an order in for a base spec MBP with upgraded hdd to 250gb (5400rpm) and the glossy screen. All is good, until I seen the shipping time which is estimated at 15-16 April, is this just a lead time to keep their backsides cover or can I expect it to arrive any sooner.

Reason I ask is because even though it said 2-3 days to build my machine it said it would ship with in the next 3-5 days after, but as you can tell the delivery time is much longer. (Order was placed today.)

Any help would be appreciated can't wait for it to turn up.

Cheers,

I don't know if this will apply to the MBPs, but here's my MBA shipping time story.

Thursday afternoon, the the Apple online store said "usually ships in 24 hours" for 1.6/80 MBAs, so I placed an order. I also ordered the Apple Remote, the USB ethernet adapter, and AppleCare.

Got the confirmation email a few minutes later saying to expect delivery in TWO WEEKS. So much for shipping in 24 hours. Apparently adding a remote to a MBA changes the order to "CTO"

The next morning (Friday), I got a shipping notification for the USB ethernet and the AppleCare.

The next morning (Saturday), I got a shipping notification for the MBA.

The both arrived yesterday, after having only placed the order Thursday evening (and choosing free shipping). The MBA at 8:30AM and the rest around noon.

I'm not sure why the delivery email gave a delivery date so far in advance.
