alright, i need some help here. I recently replaced my airport Express with an airport Extreme N for airdisk purposes, but now i want to take it to the next level.
I understand that if i have the Airport Extreme N unit set to allow ALL 802 protocols then all the "N" hardware will operate at "g" speeds. SO Here is what i want to do, tell me/help me get it going.
I have:
Airport Extreme N
Airport Express G (currently not using)
2 Macbooks (both N enabled)
AppleTV (N enabled)
iMac alum (N enabled)
2 iPhones (G)
iBook G4 (G)
Nintendo Wii (G)
HP Photosmart (G)
How can i set the Airport Extreme to N network only (allowing the fastest connection for the iMac, Macbooks and AppleTV) and then extend the network to the Airport Express G for the iPhones, iBook, Wii & HP?
If i setup the Extreme for N only then technically wouldnt the Express not be able to see the Extreme?
If its possible, then by having the Express connected via G, am i right back to where i was, "downgrading" the N enabled devices back to a G network?
HELP PLEASE....
