has anybody gotten this to work right on the '08 MP's?

everything installs fine, but the fan controls don't effect the right fans. so for example, turning up the CPU fan actually effects both the CPU and the exhaust fans....

any ideas on how to get this working right? or are there any alternatives?

thanks.

I'm having some problems with it too.

The fans are working at the rpm I set for them....all except for the Power Supply fan. That one stays at 600 rpm regardless of where I set it to.

The power supply fan can not be changed with SMC ;)

hmmmm.......that's weird. why does it let me adjust it in preferences then? or does "ps" stand for something else in smcFanControl?

the other weird thing is that changing the cpu fan effects both it and the exhaust fan, while adjusting the exhaust doesn't do anything....

the power supply 'PS' slider shows when running on the first gen MP also, but it has no effect on the fan speed. saw one thread that stated the fan in the power supply was thermally managed, that is, not hardware controlled, but speeds up or down based on an internal thermistor (temp monitor). the MP just watches to see that it's spinning, but has no control over the fan.

no idea on the combo/fan problem, as it works fine on my first gen. everything works as labeled except 'PS'.
