Problem Importing Video to IMOVIE and FCP 5.0.4

Im having issues importing HDV from Sony HDR Fx1 to recently purchased Mac Book Pro with Imovie and FCP 5.0.4? I did not have any problems with my old G5 tower 2.3 dual core. I tried batch capture and also log capture on FCP and no luck. Any suggestions or tips would be great.

FCP 5.0.4 won't work properly on an IntelMac. You'll need version 5.1 or higher.
