Mac Book Pro and After Effects

Hi,
I probably should know but which particular configuration of the mac book pro would be best to work with Adobe After effects ? Which hard drive? Will the 2.6 ghz processor make any difference? is it best to order it with the extra RAM or buy it cheaper elsewhere ?

Strange enough, Mac Minis have been tested and proven as the best for video editing, like after effects. With the cheap price it's a go. It was something about the way the processor was coded to work with the system.

Really though, I'm not sure, I want a pro too, i think you want a good graphics card and ram. Don't know how much processor speed helps.

Anyway, thought I'd resurrect this thread.

Is the current macbook pro ideal for After Effects?
That is, a top of the line MBP.

How would it differ with a top of the line iMac?

I keep changing my mind about what I want.
And of course a Macbook is sorta out of the question to run AE somewhat efficiently, right?

I can't really afford a Mac Pro right now. The iMac or MBP would basically be a means to practice on.
