FCP 6.0.2 and AVCHD?

I just bought FCP 6 and updated. I was told by Apple that I could now directly import footage from my Sony HDR-SR12 directly instead of importing into iMovie and then over to FCP. Does anyone know how to log and capture AVCHD's directly out of FCP?
