I have the 450MHz model with the stock 20GB, which I believe is 5200 or 5400RPM. A friend of mine has given me a Hitachi Deskstar 123.5GB 7200RPM drive which I'd like to install in my Cube. The only thing I'm aware of is the Cube can only read up to 120GB. Please help. Thanks!

Hi - it is a long time since I owned a Cube and I don't remember the bit about the 120GB ceiling - but it still should see the 120GB (if you put a 500GB disc in it will still only see 120GB).

I cannot think of any reason why you would have to fit a fan (where?) since the new disc wont run any hotter than your current 20GB one. I upgraded mine from 20GB to 60GB as soon as I got it and it ran as cool as could be !

Any and all Cube questions can be answered over at CuberOwners.com . When i bought my used cube i had all kinds of questions and that site was a huge resource for me.
