I lost my entire iPhoto Library a while back from an external hard disk (don't ask) but managed to recover all the image files from the disk using FileSalvage.
Thing is, this recovers ALL versions of each image (plus a lot of other iPhoto stuff that I have been able to get rid of) and each recovered image has it's own new filename. There are, of course, a LOT of duplicates....
Fortunately, the recovered files have preserved their metadata, including the date and time at which each one was taken.
Does anyone know of a way of identifying (and eliminating) duplicates using image metadata, specifically the time of shooting?
TIA.
