So I've used MediaLink with my MacPro and PS3 since it came out and never had issues with it until recently.

I recently purchased a 500gb Time Capsule to replace an old SMC wireless-G router. When I initially hooked up the Time Capsule, MediaLink was working as expected without any glitches.

However in the past 2 weeks or so there have been 2 updates for MediaLink as well as an update for Time Capsule. It seems since updating the 2, my playback of video is now pretty choppy. There is no rhyme or reason to the choppy playback it seems. Sometimes it hiccups every other second, sometimes every minute. It is clear that the network stream is dropping out because when I hit the "select" button on PS3 during playback it shows how much data is streaming, and during each hiccup the "kbps" indicator changes to a "-" sign.

I KNOW my media is encoded well, as it plays back flawlessly on my Mac and if I copy it over to the PS3 hard drive it plays back perfectly as well. I have tried all the troubleshooting NullRiver suggests on their support page and my problem is still not solved. I have also sent them a technical support email but apparently they are being bombarded with tech support requests so I don't plan on hearing back from them anytime soon. I currently have both my MacPro and my PS3 hardwired into the Time Capsule, so I can officially rule out any wireless interference as the culprit.

So I'm hoping that someone in these forums has experienced this problem and has some insight to share. I have a MASSIVE video collection and use MediaLink constantly (or at least I did until this started happening). And I am very frustrated with this problem.

Any help or guidance will be GREATLY appreciated.

Well it seems that neither MediaLink, Time Capsule or OS X is the culprit to my streaming problems but rather the latest PS3 firmware.

I stumbled upon this thread today and many others are experiencing the very same issue as I. This is the thread...

So for any of you who may be experiencing the same issue, you are not alone. Now hopefully Sony will get on the ball and fix this so I can continue watching my movies!
