Unlocking UK iPhone

Hi all,

Probably posting this in the wrong area, so please don't cut me a new hole if it is, but just wanted some advice really.

I've been working for the UK Mobile Network Orange for the last 3 months, after which time they offer you a free mobile with an extremely good staff only tariff, which i intend to take up when it is offered to me, but i don't wanna get rid of my iPhone, which i've had since the UK release.

What i ideally want to do is unlock my iPhone to use the new Orange sim i'll be getting and cancel my O2 contract, but i'm not experienced in unlocking at all, but i've hard that UK iPhones can only be unlocked to use other O2 sims, is this true?

And what software would you suggest, i've heard ZiPhone be thrown about alot, but as i said, i've never had any experience in unlocking, nor have i wanted to before now, hence my lack of knowledge.

Just run iLibertyX or ziphone and it will work with your new sim in about 5 minutes. Both programs are pretty simple.
 
May i suggest you go to www.iphoneunlockuk.com.
This is a very reputable company and they are offering you an unlock for £29.99 which you download off their site and simply run one file and everything is done for you. Have done several times and these guys are extremely friendly and safe. Whenever I have a problem i simply log in to msn messenger and the technical support guy is always ready to assist with any iPhone problems, day or night, sundays included.

I highly recommend investing a mere 30 quid to ensure a proper unlock rather than doing yourself and taking a risk with something going wrong.

I think price is 39.99 sorry but its worth spending your money. Jailbreaking yourself is risky. Whenever i have had any curiosity about iPhone or area of doubt i simply ask these guys and they always help.
 
Say I, A user who has been to their shop to get an iPhone unlocked in their physical shop and unlocked three by credit card online. Yet to fail me, therefore i say it is the safest. Not a single bad experience. I would not put users at risk by making a suggestion after trialling service once. That would be bad. I have had experience with them, thats why i am able to say that they are safe.

Hang on a sec, this guy must be a rep or something. I've heard that the lines are automated and most often busy. I feel sorry for the people who ahve parted with their cash to this company. Besides, all they push out are apps that are freely available anyway!!! Anyone can access the tools WITHOUT paying a penny!

They use ZiPhone for the Windows platform and iLiberty+ for Macs... Both of these are freely available on the internet.

Save your money people and stay away from this company - THEY ARE NOT NEEDED!

PS - Pwnage is probs the safest way to go now for 1.1.4 iPhones as Spinstorm said.
