Hi,

I'm trying to get iTunes to group a compilation album which doesn't seem very intuitive to me. This is how I want iTunes to see/display a particular album I have instead of scatterng it around like they're from different albums.

I ticked the compilation setting but to no avail.

Thanks

It sorts by album in the view your picture shows, I do believe. Try clicking on the category tabs. It lets you custom sort.

Also, if you switch to the other views, you can sort it in other ways. Album flow and that other one only let you sort by album, sadly.

It looks like it's sorting by Artist according to the first screenshot, so perhaps clicking the Album header would help. It might also help to populate the "Album Artist" tag with "Various Artists" or the like.

I was referring to this. I realize that the "sorting" is done increasing by artists, but they are grouped by album.

So as you can see, the Don Henley album is correctly grouped with one album representing it in cover flow; the other album is all scattered and strewn around. Not cool!

*ignore the duplicate Don Henley albums. Haven't had time to clean it up.

Nevermind. Just solved it.

The Album Artist field has to be the same.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Might I just say: that's a really obscure choice for music to listen to. ;)

I grew up in the 80's and stuff like the Eagles, 80's Pop/Rock is my first love but I've taken a liking to electronica music in recent years. Deep house, Progressive house: Miguel Migs, Julius Papp, Hed Kandi, Ben Watt, etc.

Well, I listen to LITERALLY anything except new country. Name a random obscure genre and I could probably give you at least one artist I listen to, ha ha. Also, MANY decades of music. It's nice. I love being ecclectic, but I have when people shove it in your (my) face that they're more "underground" or whatnot, so I'll leave my "bragging" at that. :)
