Hi all,

Was attempting to install today's software updates (FR, QT and iTunes,) when the download stalled and failed.

Upon trying to restart the software update, the download will not initiate/continue. It is stuck at 73%.

I have deleted the update package from /library/updates, rebooted, and again tried to restart the software update, finding the same issue (still stuck at 73% - obviously I have not deleted the software update package!)

So where in 10.5.2 does OSX store the Software Update data?
I believe that it used to be in a "packages" directory, and thought that deleting the QT folder in /library/updates would allow me to retry the download from the beginning.

Any help greatly appreciated!

thanks richard,

it must have been an issue with my wireless/adsl connection, as i tried to get the manual download and that also failed.

however piggybacking of the neighbours wireless network allowed software update to initiate properly.

so my problem is solved. however to tie up loose ends, can anyone explain why after deleting all the folders/files in /library/updates, (the rebooting) software update still had 74% of the stalled download still available/completed!

shouldnt have deleting all the files in /library/updates have reset the software update progress to 0%?
