7.6.2 iTunes -- did it fix any :apple:TV issues you've had?

Got so excited about the new update thinking that it would fix my :apple:TV not showing up in iTunes anymore since 7.6.1 alas still not fixed!!!! :mad:

I noticed my apple TV was not showing up anymore last week and then 2 or 3 days ago it was showing up again after I plugged my iPhone in. Not sure what the deal was but at least it is working again.
 
I've tried everything since installing 7.6.1 but I just cant get :apple:TV to show in devices again. I've got two PCs in the house running windows and iTunes 7.6.0 and they see the device no problem but my iMac and Mac Air running 7.6.1 and now .2 just refuse to see it :mad::mad::mad:
 
I've had the same disappearing :apple:TV problem and the new iTunes didn't fix it for me either. Disappointing.
 
I'm no longer getting errors trying to connect to my AirPort Express. My tv has been running smoothly.
 
Just a question to those whose :apple:TV is disappearing... did you go back into the :apple:TV menu and check the Network settings?

I have two :apple:TVs, one updated to 2.0.1 and one on 2.0. They are both connected (sometimes) to iTunes 7.6.1. The one with 2.0.1 will constantly get "dropped" from the network and disappear from my iTunes Devices list. And when I check the Network settings, they are blank. So I have to go in and re-set up the Network. Also it is strange is that it needs the network password again.

I have an entirely 5GHz N-network with an Aiport Extreme Base Station, so I am fairly certain there is no network interference. And since the other :apple:TV doesn't get dropped, I thinking it is 2.0.1 that is the culprit.

Any others have this issue?
 
Success here...

I posted a thread about Apple TV disconnectivity in iTunes 7.6.1 on this site and various other places. I now have it fixed.

What worked for me was ...

1. Upgrade Airport Utility to 5.3.1
2. Upgrade AEBS to 7.3.1

Complete a full reset on the AEBS -- sorry, this will mean you could lose your hard fought for settings -- and then switched it all back on. I did need to reset up my wireless settings on my Apple TV but that wasn't a long job.

It's been weeks now and my Apple TV has been fine. I have subsequently updated to iTunes 7.6.2, but that seems inconsequential.

Do any of you ever reboot? Seriously, any time I have ANY trouble with iTunes (and if you exit it and restart it enough, it doesn't take long, IMO), a reboot solves it EVERY time. I had trouble with my AppleTV units showing up and then disappearing and I rebooted the computer and all was fine afterwards with them showing up. Clearly, iTunes and/or OSX has bugs in it and something isn't getting cleared by just exiting. A reboot takes my PowerMac all of like 15 seconds, so it's no huge deel to reboot once in awhile. Even though OSX is BSD based, it's still not free of memory related bugs (and I have 1.5GB and run Tiger so it's not like I'm running out of memory directly, but rather is specific to iTunes acting strange). Why quit/restart? I have a few reasons, but switching libraries to sync a compressed one to an iPod is a big one.
 
I just found this article over at Macworld.com. It explains a fix for iTunes dropping connectivity with the aTV. I am posting it here in case anyone following this topic is having the same problems.
