I added additional memory to my MBP. Now there is a total of 4GB. Other than
checking the system profiler is there anything else that i should do to make sure everything is working ok?

Memory will either be there, recognized by the system and passed in POST, or not.

Even though I bought both at the same time (my Mac Mini & RAM), I waited a few weeks before I upgraded my RAM.

I felt a BIG improvement when I did the upgrade. I only did this to see if it was worth it. I wanted to get used to the "regular" speed before I changed the RAM out. If having the speed isn't that critical for what you do, wait it out and see if you actually notice the difference when you change it.

At least its easier in the MBP than what I had to do to change out RAM in my Mini. Changing RAM out in the MBP is a breeze. Try stock for a week or so. If you cant feel a difference, then you may not need it. Then again, If you already bought it and installed it, just enjoy it and impress your friends telling them about your 4GBs of RAM. Some could only wish.

That's actually what i did. I purchased the MBP in December and waited till today to install the extra memory. I went from 2 to 4GB.
It boots just fine and everything works great. I was just wondering about any additional things to look for.

I've noticed a few improvements in just the first few hours I've been using it.
Photoshop loads faster as does Word 04. I've not had much time to see how other software react to the increase in memory.

I did the same with my iMac and I noticed a hugh difference in the memory upgrade. It was a totally different machine.
