I just received my refurbished BlackBook today, and am absolutely loving it. :D When I went to check the system specs, it says I have 2GB of RAM, when the one I ordered had only 1! Looks like Apple gave me even more bang for my buck. Thanks Apple! :D

EDIT: I just realized I also got a 250GB HD instead of a 160GB! Thanks again Apple!

That's totally cool. Did you buy it with the intention of upgrading the RAM? What a nice surprise. :p:cool:

I received my BlackBook on April 1, and I didn't realize that I got an extra 1GB stick until I read this post.

he he he! When I got my refurb about a month ago and it also came with 2 Gig of Ram. Gotta Love them Apples!

Enjoy your new MacBook Guys/Gals! ;)

Now it's time to invest that money you were going to spend on the RAM in a nice case for the MacBook. I wish mine came with a surprise, but a las, it did not...

it would have been nice if my mac book came with one flippin gig of ram
even tho its good for tiger but not adobe creative suite cs3 and soon leopard ahhhhhhh

I just got a refurb too that also had 2 gb instead of the 1 I ordered. I already had ordered two 2 gb sticks from another company so it kinda went to waste for me but it was a nice surprise.:)

That is cool, now you don't even have to pay to upgrade your RAM. I just hope that somebody that ordered 2 GB didn't get one, that would be a little upsetting (not that it would be all that difficult to get it fixed by Apple).

Congratulations. You are a winner in the Apple refurbished lottery.

Many refurbished Macs are computers that have been sold and returned for some reason. If someone buys a Mac that is not the standard configuration (like 2 GB instead of 1 GB) and returns it, Apple doesn't bother removing the extra GB or changing its website and charge more for it, they just put it into the pile of 1 GB Macs. It's cheaper to give you a free GB than to do something.

Maybe they are giving 2 GB of RAM with the refurbs because that is now the standard configuration with new 2nd tier white MacBooks and BlackBooks? That could be why.

I actually did. :p Now I guess I won't have to. :D

me thing happened to me. Pretty cool. :)

same with me! it's still got the old keyboard without the itunes controls and stuff, but the free gb of ram makes me not care.

Report this immediately to Apple.

Woah. Looks like I also got a 250GB HD instead of a 160GB! Someone must have upgraded it, then sent it in because of a problem. Thanks again Apple! :D:eek::D

My Refurbished 2.2 Blackbook had 2GB too!

I just opened my refurbished 2.2 Black MacBook and discovered it had 2 GB on RAM installed (instead of 1GB)! I ordered it on Saturday and FedEx dropped it off 2 hours ago. Really happy so far, it appears to be in pristine shape. No bad pixels, scratches, dents... It looks brand new. What a great deal for $1049.

Sure is! WTG! Have fun and enjoy your new MacBook! I know many of us are and at a considerable savings! ;)

To the OP:

Put your ear up to the iSight while it is activated. Do you hear a beeping sound?
Record some video with Photo Booth. Is there beeping or chirping in the audio?

I just got my refurbished black MacBook. The iSight camera emits a beeping noise when active which is picked up by the microphone when recording any video. This is my second MacBook with the exact same problem.

I think its feedback, try turning down your volume.
