Error message with ZiPhone and iPod Touch

I'm walking my friend through jailbreaking his iPod Touch through ZiPhone and he's getting this message:

itunes could not connect to the ipod becasue an unknown error occurred(0*E8000022)

He seems to be able to get it into recovery mode (iTunes logo with the cord) but when we connects it to the cord and opens iTunes he gets the message above.

Has anyone had this happen to them before and how do do you solve it?
