So my silent switch broke (who knows how) but when i sent it it that said the iphone was scratched and damaged so they wouldn't replace. I've reverted to just turning my phone off when i need complete silence because there is no other way to achieve silent mode (for incoming call and text)

here is my beef though i've noticed recently that if use the volume buttons to turn the phone volume all the way down it will ring super quite but text still come though at full volume with no vibe...? is this normal? shouldn't the text volume be controlled by the volume nobs also?
