iPhone Family Plan: Sample Bill

Could someone who has the normal AT&T Family Plan (700 or 1400) with 2 phones on it, one being the iPhone with $20 data plan, post how much they pay per month for service with a simple breakdown of the bill?

I estimate the following, but I'd prefer to see some real numbers from bills:

700 Minutes ($69.99) + iPhone data plan ($20) + bullsh*t fees ($15) = $105
1400 Minutes ($89.99) + iPhone data plan ($20) + bullsh*t fees ($15) = $125

Also, any advice about moving a Family plan to AT&T with a single iPhone on the plan? I've heard its better to sign up for the family plan first and get 2 regular phones, then activate and add the iPhone as an add-on service to one of the lines, since iTunes doesn't give you the option to set up a traditional family plan (with only one iPhone). Anyone have experience doing this?

The price you estimated for the 1400 min plan is spot on. That's what we have, with one iPhone and one regular phone.

Get the family plan first with regular phones and add the iPhone. It will be easier to do it that way. Again, that's what we did.

Try the forum search next time- there are probably a plethora of threads already all about this.
 
I see a *ton* of posts (especially through google) but 99% of them are from the first week of the iPhone launch where people reported thousand dollar 300-page bills... I was interested in more sobering, recent numbers.

Speaking of which, does AT&T still bill every time you make an internet connection, ergo, do you still have to opt-out of the 300-page bills or have they gotten 'smarter' about it?
 
What are all these BS fees people are paying? I pay about $3.50 in tax/fees on top of the monthly rate.

My wife and I just signed up for the $59.99 family plan (550 minutes) with two free phones, and then activated iPhones for each (+$20 for each), so the base plan should be $99.99 + fees.

We are still waiting for our first bill, so we'll see on the actual price it turns out to be.

**thread hijack** -- we are ready to sell our 'free' phones -- I want to take SIM cards that came with the phone right? That's common practice -- no SIM card in them?

They don't send out detailed paper bills any more. It lists your phone calls, but not data details.

My Family plan (1400 minutes) with one iPhone and one regular phone lists about $14 in "Credits/Adjustments and other charges", these include:

9-1-1 Service Fee ($0.29 per line)
Regulatory Cost Recovery Charge ($1.25 per line)
Federal Universal Service Charge (some percentage of the cost)
State Sales Surcharge (some percentage of the cost)

The State Sales surcharge looks similar to the 6% Michigan Sales tax. I suspect it varies by state...

Plan 89.99+iphone date w/200text 20.00+PDAunlimited w/1500 txt 39.99+tax and BS =$164ish
