How to make Quicktime be the default for .flv files vice VLC

Right click/double tap on a file, go to get info and then
Open with :
Use this application to open all documents like this.

This does not work. It opens the file once but does not save the setting...
 
Weird, that works for me - what do you mean opens the file once?

When you look at the icon, what image does it have
1) before you open it
2) after you open it?

What riscy suggested works for me. Are you sure you're Right Clicking>GET INFO>then Open With and not just Right Clicking then Open With right away? Because #2 will not save settings but #1 will(/should).
 
All it does is open that specific file now always with QT. Still all other .flv files open with VLC

try the Change All button right underneath.
