how to split music in leopard?

You can do it with iMovie. Open a new project. Add your music. (You may also have to add a photo, I'm not sure, but if you do anything will do). Position the playhead at the right point in the timeline, and then go to Edit, Split audio track at playhead. Delete the unwanted bits of the music track and then export the 'movie' as a soundtrack.
