rebuilding problem

hey guys..everytime i try to rebuild my mailbox in mail.app it pop ups the msg

"mail box needs to repair its information about your mailboxes...click quit and then open mail again. mail will import your messages when you open it"

thats fine..but the problem is it crashes when i do this and cant hit the quit button..just the color wheel..forcing me to force quit mail which slows down the entire mail app

any ideas?
 
hey guys..i figured it out - in case anyone needs to know

it was related to an older version of growlmail installed

removed that..rebuilt..works great now
