So now after I do my ram upgrade, I plan on upgrading my 80 gig harddrive because it is way to small for what I need. Will upgrading it be as simple as upgrading the ram? Where can I get a new harddrive? I want to buy from newegg but I don't know what to look for.

That drive is 3.5", you need 2.5". Look at the link I posted above.

You do replace the metal shield from your old HD to the new one.

I will definitely think about getting that harddrive that you posted. Thank you for all your help.

Are you using Time Machine? IMO it makes it much easier to do. Well, it worked for me anyway.

Yeah i just did the same thing a couple of months ago, easiest process ever man, and you really really won't regret it...took me longer going to the store to get the torx 8 than doing the whole thing...

I use time machine on my Imac but I just want something bigger than 80gb on my macbook. the space is running out lol.

What is the largest HD a Macbook can hold. Is it simply whatever size the 2.5 comes in. I currently have a 250 and would love 500 if they made them. I know there are 320.

they do make 500gb, its just not up for sale yet, Samsung announced one a couple months back. I think i read somehwere about a may release im not sure though.
