Hi all,

Is there any way to upgrade my 2008 MBP 15" from its current 2.4 GHz processor to a 2.5GHz processor? Will Apple do this? How would I go about getting them to?

short answer is no. the only way this would happen is if apple replaced your machine for a new one, which i don't see happening unless something was seriously wrong with your computer that couldn't be fixed.

Say that my screen was broken. When I sent it back for a fix, could I pay them to upgrade the processor?

Not likely, but why pay $1200 when you could sell your computer, taking the several hundred dollar hit on the difference between your model and the new one--which as a reminder was reduced in price when released with the upgraded processor, for an additional several hundred dollar hit?

Really, the difference is minimal. If you got the 2.5, you'd just want whatever comes after it in a few months. Deal.
