combine itunes libraries w/o losing duplicates

hi all,

I finally have a Mac again after a year of being on a PC. I have a boatload of music on the PC along with a ton on an old external hard drive that needs repair before I can access it via the Mac (catalog file was corrupted).

I want to add all the music to the iTunes folder on my Mac, but I don' want iTunes to automatically keep out duplicate songs. I want everything together so that I can fish out the duplicates myself - I don't want to lose songs iTunes "thinks" are dupes in the process.

What is the best way to go about this?

Try using the Terminal. rsync is much smarter than iTunes

Code: 
rsync -rv /First/iTunes/Music/Folder/ /Second/iTunes/Folder

That will copy from the first what doesn't exist in the second. After that completes, add the second folder to the music library. iTunes won't automatically trim dupes because there won't be any.
