I did a quick search and didn't see anything similar. Anyway, the other night I hooked my headphones up to my MacBook Pro and was going to listen to some music, but when it started playing it was EXTREMELY loud. I turned the volume all the way down and it was still playing at the same level, so I gave up.

I just imported a song into iTunes and it started playing, but it was kinda loud so I hit the volume down button and nothing happened to the actual volume level. It's currently on mute, yet I'm still listening to the song. I turned the volume down in iTunes, and that works, but I shouldn't be hearing anything if the laptop is muted, correct? Oh, and I'm just using the built in speakers right now. Any ideas what's going on here? iTunes, YouTube, etc. are all still playing sound, even with the volume all the way off. Crazy! I have reset the computer since the other night too, so it's not just a one time thing happening here. Thanks for any help! Might be calling Apple soon if I can't figure this out here.
