Does anyone know how to run the leopard disk check without actually going through the install process?

Check disk?

Start your Mac, and immediately press and hold Apple+S.

After a few seconds, you will see text appearing on the screen. Let go of the keys.

When prompted (flashing cursor) type:

/sbin/fsck -fy (You will see an example in the text)

Another way would be to boot from the leopard dvd by holding C when booting with the disk in the drive, and then starting Disk Utility from the installer menu. You don't actually have to install to use it, and you can verify permission and/or the whole disk from there.

So i learned there is lots of tools on the install disk! lol

But what i am looking for is where the install disk does the check to make sure its ok, (right before it installs normally)

can i some how run that without going through the install process?
