Sorry for reposting, but....I am looking for a solution. When I burn DVDs in the first few days, it took 10 minutes. Recently, every time i burn DVDs, takes over 40 minutes. I am suspecting the DMA is disabled or something. Can someone help me out here?

You don't mention what you are using to burn these. If you restart does the problem go away and then re-appear? It could be the app and not the hard drive.

The problem reappears. I cannot find a way to go back to what the Pro is capable of. The software I am using is TMPGEnc DVD Author 3.0, and it's the only DVD-burning software I've installed in Windows XP.

I'm sorry if I misunderstand - but are you asking for help with a Windows app here?

Yes Windows app in a MacBook Pro. I don't know where I went wrong. It used to burn a DVD in about 10 minutes.
