Pretty big at over 20 lbs. It was fun to fight it.

The fishing down here is supposed to be great.

But that's impressive! Nice catch! Is it really just over 20 lbs? It seems much bigger.

Well I didn't weigh it. (I wanted to get it back in the water so I didn't kill it).

Could be over 20lbs. I just estimated.

EDIT: Oh, and just to keep things in proportion, I am 6ft 175lbs.

Dang! That's impressive! It almost looks fake.

Nope, that is real for sure. And the funny thing is that there are fish in my lake that are much bigger than that one.

Here is another pic to show that it is real.

Oh yeah, I definitely believe it's real...it's just so impressive, that one might think you made it up :)

Uhh, 2? :p

Man that is a good size fish you got there. When I was younger I almost caught a large catfish that was more or less that size. It broke one of our nets when we tried to catch it and it got away.

I know the feeling! Hooked up with a 10lb bass a few months ago.. Fought him for a few minutes and got him right up to the dock. My father was reaching for a net and the darned thing wrapped around a piling and snapped the line at the last second.

fishing is the ****, i love it,i caught a nice pike last year in the ottawa river, 37 inches if im right.. i ll look for the pic...

Pike are a lot of fun to catch, but the fillets are almost always full of tiny bones. What are some good eating fish you can catch in florida lakes?

Some people like to eat Black Crappie, I however do not eat any self caught freshwater fish. Too yucky!

I will buy Tilaipa and Catfish at my local grocer.

I will eat saltwater fish I catch... Grouper is delicious!

lol i am the other way around, i will only eat freshwater fish that i catch, anything else is well.. too fishy for me i don't know where it comes from...

nice one....its a CARP...i heard there not so good for eating lots of that spikey bones..

I eat the exact opposite of you too, haha btw catfish is disgusting....

Bass, crappie is the best, trout.

Anything from the sea to me is just disgusting... I hate crab and lobster all of that seafood.

Anyways, my Papa has a place down in FL, what's the best stuff to use for freshwater fishing in say Ft. Lauderdale or anything really southern (Miami..ect) like that, my friend and I tried to catch some fish, but we just ended up getting pumpkin seeds and bluegills, or what looked to be them. :p

Ya, it is a grass carp. My lake is stocked with them for weed control.

For Bass a texas rig is the way to go. I use a 1/8oz bullet weight, 3/0 hook and a Junebug color worm. That will catch you tons of bass.

I use 10lb Flurocarbon line... My bass setup is a Shimano Curado reel and a Shimano Compre rod. Setup costs a little over $300, but WELL worth it.
