I tried copying a large file (greater than 4GB) to TimeCapsule mounted drive and got the error message that the drive is formatted FAT.

FAT has a 4GB limit. Anyone else experience this?
 
yes

i tried doing same and received error - cause it acesses both mac/pc i guess they had to use FAT32...

i use a backup program to break across barrier -

also RAR is great tool for it - free versions exist out there too!
