I installed Leopard over Tiger the other day, and I guess it did an "archive and install". I say I guess b/c I never made a selection of what to do. The installer just told me how much space I had and how much space would remain, so I figured that was the right way to go.

My question is this, though. Did Tiger get deleted? If so, why wasn't that HDD space regained?

THis is my first OS X upgrade, so thanks for any info anyone can share about it.

Well, Leopard takes more disk space than Tiger, so now you have less.

Depends on how much you lost. If it was only a little, chances are that Leopard just takes up more space. If it's a considerable amount of space, maybe Tiger is still there.

Also, did you consider tha actual formatted size of your HD in your calculations?

Yeah, I considered my original HDD size. I had about 16.xx GB before the install, and now I have about 10.xx GB after the install.

I don't see a systems folder for Tiger, either.

Again, if this is normal that's fine. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something that I need to delete to free up some space.
