Just got my new macpro and cannot connect to the internet

Router: Dynalink RTA 1025W
Connecting Via: Ethernet
Networking: Connecting with DHCP

I can connect fine with my laptop (windows xp Pro) via ethernet but the Macpro doesn't want to play nice.

I rang the Applecare (Australia) and they told me to take it into a service centre as i may have a faulty ethernet on the board.

I'm guessing they will have to replace the whole logic board.

RANT RANT RANT CRY CRY CRY

What recourse do I have? Can i demand a brand new Macpro or are they in their rights to repair it under warranty?

try clicking "Assist Me" in Network preferences and then clicking "Diagnostics". this will tell you where the internet connection is going wrong.

if there is a problem with your ethernet port Apple Australia wont replace the whole machine, theyll just repair it under warranty.

O... well that sux then

I'm hoping it's not the Macpro and just user stupidity unable to get networking working!
