Ok, a new member here who needs help on something.

You see I formatted everything on my MacBook using my installation, made a new user because my other one wouldn't let me in and put everything back the way it was using Time Machine. But then when I try and back up my Mac it said that it's backing up a whopping 28 Gigs, as if the thing wasn't backed up before. So now I only have a small amount of space on my external hard drive.

Is there any sort of way to fix this problem? Please I need help.

Thanks.

Sounds like this is happening, and is normal.

If not, then when you reinstalled everything, TM saw that as a change and backed-up everything. Which makes total sense.
