So, I already have StuffIt Expander 12, but I have recently acquired what I have researched to be files compressed using a "Parity Archive Tool" and I was wondering if there was any way I could decompress/unarchive these files.

I looked at StuffIt's website and it does not show the Parity archive files as compatible with it.

I also could be completely mistaken as to what exactly these files are. I looked here: http://filext.com/file-extension/PAR2 for what they do, but I don't really understand it.

Could someone help me figure out what the files are/what they do and how to use them on my mac?

Looks like there are no builds for OS X, other than PAR1, which I suspect won't work.
Which means you'd have to attempt to build and compile the binary yourself on your Mac.

Fink only has par1, maybe Darwin ports?

Hm. Sounds WAY out of the question for me, since I wouldn't even know where to begin to build/compile the binary myself, but thanks for the suggestion! Maybe I can find someone who could do it for me...
