I was just wondering, do you need to use special "Mac" DDR2 ram, or can you just throw in any 667mhz kit that you would use on a PC laptop?

You don't need special "Mac" DDR2 RAM, but I would suggest getting it from a reliable source.

The current Macs are just regular PCs with OS X

Anything that a PC can use, a Mac can as long as the part is compatible.
