Update Issue

A few days ago I ran 'Software Update' and the only update available was 'iMac EFI Firmware Update' which I installed. The problem is, now every-time I run update, this update is always there (version 1.3). I keep installing it and being told told that it installed successfully.

Why does it keep appearing as a new update?
 
I did that and was prompted to Shut Down the Mac. After a re-start it made no difference - the update appeared again for download. Any other ideas?
 
I am not sure it did! There were no steps to follow - it just prompted me to Shut Down.
 
When you booted back up did a bar fill up under the apple logo?
I updated my macbook, it told me to shut down then press and hold down the power button until it bleeped.
