I see on other forums that some posters' touches are crashing when they've added more than 79 applications. I "only" have 73 apps now so I haven't had any problem. Anybody here run into this problem???

It seems that since there are 9 pages available with 16 apps per page, you should be able to have 144 apps plus the 4 in the dock.

May I ask whether you use more than 10 of them on a regular basis?

Not counting the built-in applications, I use these at least once a week, if not daily:
Google
Wikipedia
weDict
Converter
Books
HP-11C [calculator]
PocketTouch [no-look volume/track control]
ToDoList
Lottery [results]
WiFiFinder
Snopes
PSECU [my credit union]
Movies [movie/theater finder]
Battery [shows state of the touch's battery]
XSolve [crossword word solver]
Roll Five
Sudoku
4Row
Bejeweled
Dark Tiles
Domino
Backgammon
Dot game
Tile
Translator [milti-language translations]
SMBPrefs [summerboard theme changer]
NBC [news]
Fox ["news"]
Settings
Others that I have found useful, but not regularly are:
RSS
VNotes [Voice Notes]
UPC Price [enter UPC, get sellers and prices]
Search [text search for calendar and contacts]
Ruler
iConjugate [conjugates verbs in several languages]
Quiz [game]
Shooter [game]
App Finder [WebApps]
Screen Shot

There are a few others that are there just because they're "cool". After I evaluate their usefullness some may be deleted.

Sorry. I was re-reading my original post and it seemed a tad scathing. I never had much use or time for anything but iPhysics. Which appears to be missing from your list!
:D

Bloody hell, how big is your touch? (32?) Don't risk it though, would be a bugger to install them again :)

Someone should make a backup application..

..Please elaborate :)

on elwhat how it works? It just makes a simple backup file, that is easy to copy, and allows you to revert to this file, so you only have to install it after a restore

are you talking about time machine in OS X or are you talking about an iPod specific application? as time machine for OS X won't work on the ipod...
