Hey all,

Love my 4 GB iPhone, but I'm going through a financial hardship and am trying to pinch my pennies. Losing the iPhone, at least temporarily, seems like a good way to do that. (Besides, the 3G one is coming out soonish anyway, right?) 4 GB ones are going for ~$400 right now on eBay. I have the original box and manuals and everything.

I just have a couple questions...

1) Can I even do this? It's activated, obviously...is there any way I can "un-activate" it? Does this violate AT&T policy? Will I be able to keep my contract but go with a simpler phone minus the $20/month data plan?

2) Do you think I'd be wiser to sell it unlocked or restore it to original firmware?

If you have any other advice, I'm all ears. Thanks for the help, gang.

I seen two 4GB iPhones go for $225 last night. Where are you seeing $400? They average around $250-300 unlocked or not.

Try craigslist.com you can post a local sale and not have to worry about all the hassle of ebay.
