I installed word 2008 on my girlfriends mac for college use and she managed to turn the pilcrow (little paragraph symbols) on. I know on windows there is a simple button you can click to turn this on and off, but I cannot for the life of me find it on the mac version of ms word. if anyone can point me in the right direction.. well I would thank you! :rolleyes:
 
Preferences -> View -> Non-printing Characters -> uncheck "paragraph marks"

btw, you can add any function you like to the toolbars by going to customize toolbars

Thanks for the help on the pilcrow issue. I also did it again and notice how I turned it on the first time (and thank God now off).
The easy dual button Push is;
Hold down the "Apple Key" the same time you hit the */8 Key.
You can turn this annoying system off or on with ease.
